Patna: Chief Secretary of Tripurari Sharan has announced the construction of a 350 bed ward at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur for cancer treatment.
The new Ward will be built with an estimated RS700 Crore cost.
Sharan, who inaugurated a 100 bed named ward as a Covid-19 Care unit built under the CSR project from the ICICI Foundation on Saturday, said the proposal to establish another ward for the treatment of cancer will be delivered by the Ministry of Health to the Cabinet.

The main secretary directed the additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Kaushal Kishore, who was present on the occasion, to start the earliest process and submit a proposal to nod in the cabinet.
At present, there is a 150 bed cancer ward, unit of the Memorial Institute, in SKMCH.
Previously, the main secretary inaugurated the 100 beds in SKMCH for Covid-19 patient care.
It will also provide chemotherapy facilities to patients infected with cancer.
It has been built under the CSR project from the ICICI Foundation.
Ward will interrupt the oxygen supply.
Ward will function under the supervision of cancer hospital Homi Bhabha and research center.
The catheter clinic (PICC) centrally entered peripherally, the first of its kind in the state, will meet the needs of cancer patients, which previously had to visit Mumbai or Delhi to take advantage of facilities.
ICICI Zonal Bank Head Nilesh Ranjan and Regional Head of Shiv Patnaik said Covid care units will play an important role in providing appropriate care to patients infected with viruses.
Commissioner Division Tirhut Mihir Kumar Singh, Muzaffarpur District Judge Pranav Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Development of Muzaffarpur, Ashhtush Dwivedi, was also present on that occasion.
