New Delhi: Around 350 sites in East Delhi, such as community rooms, offices and schools, will soon have a solar panel on their roof.
The proposal for installing the panel with the help of the Solar Energy Corporation of India was approved at a fixed committee meeting on Thursday.
This project aims to facilitate the implementation of the National Solar Mission.
“The design of the memorandum of understanding for the project has been prepared in the consensus with SECI,” said Commissioner Edmc Vikas Anand.
“This plant should be installed based on income distribution.” In 2018-19, a solar factory from a capacity of 325 KWP was installed in 10 city buildings.
The last financial year, EDMC managed to get Rs 20 Lakh after exporting the surplus power produced at this factory.
“We have 220 schools, 70 community spaces, 40 health department buildings, including hospitals and offices, which can be used for the installation of solar panels on the roof.
This system offers sustainable energy, environmental benefits, has a period of low pregnancy and distribution losses,” said Chairman of the Permanent Committee Edmc Singh Beer Pawar.
“We will be able to save Lakh Rupees on electricity bills and produce some income too.”
