Rajkot: Three cases of omicron variants detected in Rajkot on Monday, in addition to 36 people who tested positively positive Covid-19 in the Rajkot district.
Of the 36 Coronavirus cases, five are children.
Meanwhile, a 60-year-old woman in Jamnagar died of Covid during treatment on Monday.
He was fully vaccinated and suffered hypertension and other comorbidity, said health officials.
According to health officials, three students of the University of R K, who are citizens of Nepal and Bangladesh, were tested positive for the Omicron variant.
They are all near roommates from the first Omicron patient, residents of Tanzania.
They are all in medicine in a separate ward in the civilian rajkot hospital.
Of the 36 new Covid cases in the Rajkot District, 33 came from the city, while three came from rural areas.
New cases including a 15-year-old boy, two 14-year-old boys, a four-year-old girl and a ten-year-old boy.
