Kolkata: Thirty-seven men – all of them are twenties and thirties and most of them professionals who work – arrested from the park, a luxury hotel in Park Street, in the early hours of sunday for alleged partying nine from Covid restrictions that violated violations.

“The men were arrested from the second and third floor to party with loud music who opposed Covid restrictions imposed by the government.

Acting on the tip-off, a team of four dozen officers from the anti-rowdy part of the Detective Department along with three IPS officers stormed the hotel around 1.15 in the morning and allegedly found a large group of men and women drinking and dancing with lobby music in the hotel lobby.
The police arrested 37 men but allowed women and those who chat in the room to leave.
Two luxury cars, including Mercedes Benz, 38 cellphones, two DJ consoles, Hookah, liquor bottles, cannabis bags and two sets of guest lists seized.
Those who were arrested were ordered under the IPC 120B section (criminal conspiracy), 269 (negligatory actions tended to spread dangerous disease infections for life), 188 (disobedience to be ordered in a way that was shocked by civil servants) and 353 (violence or criminal to prevent public servants From the release of its duties) read with 51 (b) from the disaster management law.

Defense advisors blamed the hotel authorities for allowing parties to take place in their place and add that most of them were arrested invited to a birthday party and the police frame them for trivial violations.
