Nagpur: Unit on charges of around 23 officers and 348 police 55 years and over with co-morbidities, has been asked by police police to demand personnel in places or assign them tasks where they will become less than public, at Omicron threat background.
The substantial number of 371 can also be ‘on duty’ in the arrangement of work-from-house, in accordance with the State Police Guidelines.
“The police sent to work from home can participate in online police training and improve skills in this period,” said an official.
In the ongoing Covid wave, around 28 police, three inspectors and three assistant police inspectors have been tested positively with mild or no symptoms at all.
City police, who were destroyed by Covid-19 in the first wave with 1,830 positive testing personnel and 28 deaths, had succeeded in reducing the number of victims to four in the second wave, with 630 positive testing.
City Police Chief (CP) Amitesh Kumar said 27 senior inspectors had been instructed to speak with positive personnel testing from their units twice a day, in addition to the central table at the commissioner’s office which will also communicate with sick police and their families to monitor their requirements and offer help.
“Which eligible is also provided a dose of booster from the police hospital,” he said.
“Five zonal teams have been formed for random fast antigen testing,” said CP.
Dr.
Sandeep Shinde, Chief Medical Officer from the police hospital at the headquarters, said 210 police took a booster dose on the first day.
“Apart from the five zonal teams, a special moving police hospital team was also made for randomized testing.
The personnel being tested and positive were immediately isolated for supervision and care,” Dr Shinde said, adding that Vitamic C, multivitamin, zinc, Immunity and Kadha amplifiers are provided for all police.
CP Kumar added that apart from periodic random tests, a special medical team also conducted a contract from positive police testing.
“We provide oxicimeter kits and drugs for all personnel,” he said.
The police hospital was also involved in collecting medical history and data from all personnel in the city.
