Mumbai: Maharashtra on Monday reported 3,741 new Coronavirus cases and 52 deaths.
With that, the total number of cases jumped to 64,60,680 and the number of deaths to 1.37,209.
The official said 4,696 patients were dismissed from hospitals throughout the state in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of patients recovered to 62.68,112.
The state, which now has 51,834 active cases, has 2,88,489 people in house isolation and other 2,299 in institutional quarantine, he said.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra is at 97.02 percent, while the mortality rate is 2.12 percent.
The cumulative number of Coronavirus tests conducted in the country rose to 5,38,12,827, where 1.63,214 was carried out in the last 24 hours, the official said.
Coronavirus tests are generally low at weekends compared to other days and this translates to decline in positive cases on Monday.
Eight districts, Dhule, Jalgaon, Hingoli, Akola, Yavatmal, Wardha, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Six Municipal Corporations – Dhule, Jalgaon, Malegaon, Parbhani, Nanded and Chandrapur (their city centers) – do not report any case Covid-19 fresh.

The official said the Ahmednagar district reported 770 new infections, followed by Satara in 446, while Solapur was the only district reported death in two digits in 19.
