Kathmandu: Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain throughout Nepal have left at least 38 dead people, including seven children, and injured more than 50 others in the last 20 days, the home ministry said on Saturday.
The ministry said 51 people were injured and 24 people, including three children, were lost in flood incidents and landslides in various parts of the country.
Likewise, 1,250 people have been evacuated from various parts of the country struck by natural disasters, he said.
Five people died in the Sindhupalchowk district, four were killed in the Doti District, three of each in Gorkha and Rolpa, respectively in Chitawan, Tanhun, Pyutan and Rautahat, respectively in Lalitpur, Khotang, Sapta, Kavre, Dhading, Arghakhachi, Jumla, Arghakhachi, Dang, Palpa, Kaski, Kalikot, Panchthar, Bajhang District and Bajur, said the ministry.
790 houses have been flooded, 519 houses, 90 cowssheds and 19 bridges were destroyed due to floods and landslides, he said.
Nepalese Army personnel, Nepal Police and armed police forces have been mobilized to carry out rescue operations.
More than 5,100 people have been moved due to natural disaster during this period.
