Ahmedabad: On Monday, 39,500 people were vaccinated in the city.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday claimed that a stable supply from 35,000 to 36,000 doses a day was being received by the Civic Agency over the past two days.
“Until Saturday we have received 17,000 to 25,000 doses a day because only 115 to 120 vaccination center was actually active,” said a senior AMC health official.
AMC has been convinced by the state government that a stable supply of 35,000 vaccine doses will be given to civilian bodies for the next few weeks.
“If we maintain a drive vaccination of 39,000 to 42,000 a day for the next two months we will have 92% of the city population under the cover of vaccination.
This includes two non-vaccinated days stated by the state government,” AMC senior official said.
Although one of the highest doses of Covid-19 vaccination was recorded at Ahmedabad on July 3 – with 45,444 vaccine doses given – sharp fell by 20% in the next 15 days even though there was a regular supply.
“City vaccination trends revealed that within 15 days vaccination fell 20%.
Our data shows that the average daily vaccination fell between June 26 and July 2 from 24,400 to 19,500,” added AMC officials.
