Ahmedabad: Built at a cost of Rs 170 Crore, corridor which was elevated 2.36 kilometers between The Gota Flyover and Flyover Science City in S G Round was inaugurated on Monday by the Minister of Home Union Amit Shah.
With a 1.48kylometre blanket from Thaltej to Sola Bridge has been functioning since June 27 this year, a total of 4.18km-length flyover has become functional from Monday, connecting The Gota Flyover to Sola Science City Flyover.
Amit Shah inaugurated a 2.4 km high corridor between Gota and Science City Flyovers planned to change the 44km national highway from Sarkhej in Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar City and Chiloda (in the Gandhinagar district) to the street service on both sides, on the investment RS 913 Crore .
Of the total 13 firovers to be built as part of the project, seven have become functional.
The elevated corridor is eighth to be functional with the inauguration on Monday.
Five remaining flyovers are being construction.
“The elevated corridor will directly benefit the commuter using the SG (Sarkhej-Gandhinagar) highway which is under the constituency of Parlinimenter Gandhinagar Shah, by connecting it into four important road intersections, namely Sola Bhagwat, Gasoline Pump Cargil, Janata Nagar and Zydus,” A The release of the office of the state minister said.
