Ara: Four women of Ojhwaliya Village were destroyed to death by SUVs during a morning trip near the Devchanda Bridge under the Piro Police Station area in the Bhojpur District on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Urmila Devi (58), Manti Devi (52), Saraswati Devi (51) and Motijharo Devi (52).
Angry locals blocked Jalan Piro-Jagdishpur for several hours, demanding adequate compensation for mourning families and arrest of the driver causes.
Piro Sdpo Rahul Singh, HR Amrendra Kumar and the Piro Police Station and a police office personnel who side by side reached the place to calm the agitat crowd.
They raised the blockade only after the announcement of the compensation immediately.
SDPO Singh said as a relief directly under the scheme of family benefits, each family grieved paid RS20,000 in addition to RS3,000 under the Antyeshti Kabir scheme.
“The steps are taken to provide further assistance to mourning families.
Efforts are above the guilty driver NAB,” he said.
According to the locals, some men and women from Ojhwaliya went to walk in the morning every day.
