Davanagere: The District Education Department in Davanagere has filed a complaint of the police against four class X students who allegedly persecuted their Hindi teacher on Monday.
The abuse was revealed after two other classmates posted a video of harassment on social media.
The 59-year-old teacher who was close to retirement at first did not complain about boys to the principal, afraid of any actions taken against them would be stains in their future.
Sixth — boys who confront the teacher and both who put videos — are minors.
It is not clear what actions they might face because this case is now being investigated.
On social media, the video shows children in high school boys who put empty trash cans at the Prakash B teacher’s head, pulling his clothes and harassing it in the classroom.
The school is in Nallur Village in Channagiri Taluk.
When the video became viral on Fridays and social media users began to criticize student behavior, school administration began investigations.
Officials from the district education department visited the school and submitted a case against four students who had known Teachers.
Channagiri Mla Madal Veerupakshappa also goes to school and demands action against children.
G M Shivakumar, deputy principal, told TI that Prakash was harassed in class on Monday but it was revealed on Friday when the video was circulated.
Teacher, who has some health problems, is shaken by that behavior, said Shivakumar.
“We have taken a written complaint from the teacher and based on this complaint, we have submitted a case against four students who harass and embarrass the teacher,” he added.
Deepak B, a son of Hindi teacher, said: “My father is very disturbed by this incident and is not in a position to talk to anyone.
The authority must ensure the incident is not repeated.” GR Tippesappa, Deputy Director of Public Instruction in Davanagere, said: “We visited school and held a meeting with parents of six students, members of SDMC and other teachers in front of police officers.
We did not warn students to enjoy such activities and respect Teacher.
“Typeshappa said the teacher had been offered to transfer to the chosen school if he wanted to move from this school.
Madhu, Police Office Inspector Channagiri, said: “We have submitted a case against four students and we are investigating this case.
