LONDON: Four children have died after a fire tore a house in South London, the authorities said.
About 60 firefighters dropped at home in a residential area and bringing children from home as an intense fire tore the building on Thursday night.
The four children, who are believed to be related, were treated at the scene and were taken to the hospital where they were said to die.
Their age is not immediately available.
“This is an incident that makes everyone numb with deep sadness,” said the commissioner of the London fire extinguisher Andy Roe.
“My mind with family and children’s friends, all local communities and everyone who will be affected by this fire.” Roe said firefighters were offered counseling as a priority.
The cause of the Blaze was being investigated.
