4 Dead as Van Rams Become a Container in Mum-ahd Nat’l Highway

Mumbai: Four people, including a two-year-old girl, was killed and eight injured when their van crowded crashed into a container in the Manor in Palghar Regency in Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway on Sunday night.
Dandi residents in Tarapur returned home after a visit to the Temple of Dewi Ekvira Virar.
Among those injured were two children aged two and three.
Two of the three who were injured were very serious, the Manor police said.
The Five-Seater Eeco Van has gone to the temple on Sunday morning with nine adults, including drivers, and three minors, which are included in the fishing community.
Eyewitnesses told Van driver police, Rakesh Tautore (42), lost control of the vehicle when they reached the village of Avandani near Dahanu.
The vehicle fell to the back of the multi-axle container in Gujarat Lane around 6pm, said Pradeep Inspector Kasbe.
Tamore, Hemant Tare (60), his daughter Sushma Aarekar (32) and Sarvajna’s grandchild (2), sat in front, die in place.
While the drivers of the container advanced away, the locals rushed to help victims.
The front side of the van was destroyed but in the back seat pulled by residents.
The three of them were said to be serious, Kasbe said, and they were treated at the Global Hospital in Manor.
Ramesh Arkar (2) and Jayesh Tautore (3) suffered a minor injury because they sat on the lap of adults in the back seat, witnesses told the police.
Cases of unintentional deaths registered.
Police said the initial investigation showed that the driver of the van was guilty.
Search has been launched for the container driver to record the statement.
FIR will be registered under the Indian criminal code section and the ACT motor vehicle, the police said.
The van belongs to Tamore.
Residents have planned to visit the temple for the past few weeks.
