Chaibasa: Four family members were hacked to death with ax in the Singhbhum Jharkhand district, police said.
The body of the onmu khandait, his wife of Mani, Brother Gobru and a small child was discovered by the villagers on Saturday morning in a rice field near their home in Kendaposi Village in the Hatgamariah police station area, they said.
They were hacked to death with ax, following a party with several families, the police supervisor said Ajay Linda.
Those who attended the party were interrogated, he said.
The dispute over the land was thought to be the cause of murder but the problem was examined from all angles, he added.
The body is sent for postmortem.
