4 held for illegal attacks, extortion of RS 11 lakh

Mumbai: Two sales taxes and one income tax inspector along with one more person were arrested for allegedly carrying out illegal attacks at the property owner in Kalbadevi in South Mumbai without sucking the State GST office and extorting Rs 11 Lakh, police said on Friday.
The incident at the office owner of the JiCumumar Jain property took place on June 14 and the four were arrested on Thursday, a official said.
“Jain has a property in several city areas and two people collect rent, take Rs 11 lakh with them.
Jain immediately found the attack was not the official,” he said.
“After the complaint was submitted at the police station Lt Marg, an investigation that focused on Hitesh Vasaikar (42), Machchindra Kangne (34), Prakash Shegal (55) and Santosh Jagdale (38).
Vasaikar is an Income Tax Inspector, while Kangne and SYGAR is a sales tax inspector.
The four have been charged with extortion, “he said.
