Shahjahanpur: The four men were arrested in the Uttar Pradesh district on Wednesday for allegedly deceiving people with songs more than Rs 1 Crore on fake guarantees to get their jobs in the army, police said.
“Bhupendra Singh, Kamlesh Singh, Prabhat and Kuldeep Singh were arrested after complaints against them.
They deceived people in a tone of more than Rs 1 Crore in the district,” said the police supervisor (SP).
He said on June 30, one Nabe Hasan gave complaints at the Tilhar police station who accused that Bhupendra Singh had taken Hospital 3.70 lakh from him for work in the Indian army.
The complainant alleged that when there was no recruitment in the Army, he asked for charges of money, which he had arranged by selling land, but the latter refused to oblige.
A fired fired based on complaints at the Tilhar police station on July 4 and the four defendants were arrested, SP said.
The police have confiscated fake appointment letters, caste certificates, laptops, and fake walkie-talkie sets from the ownership of the defendant.
SP said during the interrogation, the defendant told the police that an Abhishek from Bhind was a gang kingpin and had appointed them as his agent in Shahjhanpur.
They used to take RS 5-6 lakh from a candidate promising him work in the Army and sent Rs 3 Lakh from there to Abhishek, who used to regulate false physical tests of candidates, SP said.
Detailed probes in this problem and the police tried to capture Abhishek and five other gang members.
