Mumbai: Four police attached to the Juhu police station suspended and arrested in August last year for killing a 22-year-old man and then Chargesheeted had been restored by Mumbai police.
Four Cops-Santosh Desai (48), drawn Chavan (39), Ananda Gaikwad (37) and Ankush Palave (35) – has been suspected of attacking a 22-year-old 10-year-old resident, Raju Velu Devendra, on the night intervention 29 and 30 March 2020, as soon as the national locking was enforced considering the Coronavirus pandemic.
The four police claimed that Devendra was caught stealing by residents Chawl number 5 at Nehru Nagar, who had accepted it to death.
However, Devendra’s family accused that Lynching’s mob theory was a closing and that he had been killed by the police himself.
Lawyer Bahraiz Iran submitted litigation of public interest in this case in the Bombay High Court, urged him to take action against police brutality throughout the state during the court, and the High Court directed the police to take awareness.
The murder case was registered in August 2020 in the complaints of Raju Manikam’s men and four police officers arrested as an investigation of the department began.
“The police have tried to protect four suspects, who even took digital video recorders from every CCTV camera covering the incident site and trying to pass the incident as a case of Mob Lynching,” Manikam said.

Now with their recovery, the four have been posted in different units of local weapons departments.
CP together (administration) Rajkumar Vhatkar confirmed to Ti they had been restored.
“Can decipher (on) the criteria for their recovery only after through a case paper,” Vhatkar said.
Lawyer Bahraiz Irani said he was surprised that four policemen had been taken back.
“The problem will be taken when this case comes to hear in court,” Iran told TII.
