Jaipur: Even after the completion of the four southwest monsun spells in the state, the average rainfall of the Monsun was a deficit of 6% compared to August 21 2020.
Among 33 districts, only the city and baran received abnormal rainfall while Bundi, Jhalawar, sawai Madhopur and Tonk receive excessive rainfall.
The rest of the district has a deficit or a little rainfall.
Jaipur Met Office on Saturday said the last spell of the rainy season tended to bring abundant rainfall.
According to the numbers available with the Department of Water Resources, the state has an average rainfall of 389.62 mm until August 21, 2020, but accepts an average rainfall of 366.12 mm this year to date.
“It is clear that we still have a 6% rainfall deficit.
Thus, there is a desperate need to have a widespread rainfall in the state,” said an officer with Jaipur Met Office.
Baran has received rainfall of 1,032.63 mm, which is 77% more than what the district was received last year.
Similarly, the city has received 898.89 mm rainfall, which is 66.8% higher than last year.
“The district that received 60% or more rainfall compared to last year was placed in the abnormal rainfall category.
So Baran and the city have abnormal rainfall,” the officer added.
Sirohi, who had been flooded in 2017, in a little rainfall category.
“Sirohi has so far received 240.67mm rainfall compared to 627.87mm received until August 21, 2020.
