Thiruvananthapuram: The country on Monday recorded four cases of omicron again, taking the total amount in the state to 15.
All new cases have been identified in Thiruvananthapuram.
New cases detected on Mondays including the mother and grandmother of the 17-year-old boy who tested the positive Omicron on his arrival from England today.
A 27-year-old woman who came from England on December 12 and a 32-year-old man who arrived from Nigeria on December 17 was two other people who were confirmed to sign a new variant in their medical test.
Health Minister Veena George said four new cases had been confirmed in laboratory tests in Rajiv Gandhi Center for biotechnology here.
Government sources say the condition of patients tested by omicron variants is not serious.
Kerala reported 2,230 new Covid-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 2,230 cases of Covid-19 on Monday from 39,826 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the new Covid cases, 646 were not vaccinated, 145 had taken one dose and 1,146 had received both doses.
Among new cases, the highest reported from Thiruvananthapuram (439), followed by Ernakulam (397) and Kozhikode (259).
According to official figures, at present, there are 28,724 cases of Covid active in the state.
From this, 8.8% of people have been hospitalized for care.
Among the deaths in the previous days, 14 deaths have been confirmed as because of Covid-19.
Based on the request received by the government, 405 deaths have also been intended as Covid’s death.
With this, the death toll in the country has reached 44,922.
