Hyderabad: A group of 10 passengers bound Canada from India, transit through Abu Dhabi, left stranded for hours at the UAE airport after they tested positive for Covid-19 on their arrival hours.
According to the rules, passengers – four of Hyderabad and six of Delhi and Ahmedabad – now will be allowed to continue the next trip only after they test negatively.
Incidentally, all leaflets carry negative RT-PCR reports, obtained before raising their etihad flights from India.
The problem was revealed on Friday when passengers were brought to social media to reach Indian authorities who were seeking help.
Speaking to Ti from the airport, leaflets from Hyderabad said that they reached Abu Dhabi on January 20 and underwent a mandatory Covid-19 test for all flyers with connecting flights.
“I was surprised when the test results were in.
Since then, it has become a terrible experience,” said Gollapudi, who returned to Toronto after his Sankranti holiday.
