Greater Noida: Police Noida said they had arrested four member gang screwdrivers used to target people after offering them elevators.
The arrest was carried out after a meeting with the police in the Beta-2 area.
The police said that the defendant was identified as Anand Verma, Shiv Kumar, Bablu Verma and Deepak Verma and they all received a bullet injury during the meeting.
Geng has several cases registered in Delhi, Mathura and Rajasthan and members also present the term in prison in other countries.
The gang was allegedly involved in more than a dozen robbery and attack cases in the district and famous as “gang screwdriver”.
They will offer lift to people, attack them using a screwdriver and then, rob them or bring it to the ATM booth and force them to withdraw money.
Anil Kumar, Sho of Beta-2 Police Station, said that the gang had been active in the area for the past eight months and will often target senior citizens.
“The fourth was accused of being a member of the Screwdriver gang and claimed to be crime.
We have recovered more than Rs 1 lakh, screwdriver, one hammer, several ATM cards, the gun made by the country, bullets and fast cars from them,” he said.
Vishal Pandey, DCP from Greater Noida police, said that the gang was active in various countries, including Delhi, Mathura, Rajasthan, and desired in more than 30 crimes.
“On Sunday morning around 11am, while conducting an examination at Pari Chowk, the police saw a car without a plate of numbers.
They tried to escape when asked to stop.
And then they opened fire in the police and at the counterfeiting counter, the four suffered a bullet injury their feet.
They were arrested and not undergoing hospital treatment, “Pandey said.
The police said that they would be ordered under Uttar Pradesh Gangster and anti-social activities (prevention) Act, 1986.
