4 people held with almost 8 tons of rice PDS in 2 days

Coimbatore: Two people were arrested with six tons of rice intended to be distributed through the Public Distribution System (PDS) in Tirupur on Thursday.
The official source said the 26-year-old Prakash, a Karipalalayam resident was close to Uthukuli, was arrested during the vehicle examination in SeranKadu in Tirupur on the day, while he carried 120 ration bags worth RS 2.33 lakh on mini trucks.
Every Gunny bag has 50kg rice rations.

The police identified the defendant as Kasi, 40 and Anwar, 40, both the population of ukkadam in the city of Coimbatore.
