Bhagalpur: With the aim of streamlining vehicle parking in the city, Bhagalpur Smart City Limited (BSCL) has initiated a plan to build automatic multilevel parking lots in four strategic locations four.
Officials say four places have been intended, while the fifth place is being identified.
Multilevel parking slots will be built on engineering, procurement and construction models (EPC).
Funds for RS22-30 Crore songs will be spent developing parking structures.
The area chosen for parking is near the collectorate at Ghanta Ghar-Kutchery Road, close to Lajpat Park, Transport Depot Bihar Rajya on the Tilka Manjhi campus and near the Sandy compound gate.
Two other locations near the teacher training campus and Kotwali Chowk are also being considered for their proximity to the busy main market in Sujaganj.
Bhagalpur DM Subrat Kumar Sen said the bidding process for multilevel parking in four ongoing places and the Certificate of Objection (NOC) for three places has been given.
“We want multilevel parking facilities immediately so congestion in the main city area due to random two-wheeled parking, tricycle and cars are prevented,” he said.
Bhagalpur SSP Nitha Gudia said Multilevel Parking facilities will prevent frequent traffic rates and reduce pressure on traffic police.
“Multilevel parking facilities can also help complete unnecessary laws and problems that arise sometimes because of haphazard parking by vehicle owners,” he said.
Commissioner of the City and Managing Director of Bhagalpur Smart City Limited, Pressurl Chandra Yadav, said advanced parking facilities would be based on the EPC model and similar to metropolitan cities to relieve the flow of traffic in the main city area and for a viable city.
“We strive to complete the tender process and other related works besides starting construction work in August,” he said.
