Jaipur: The four reservoirs will be built in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner to meet the needs of existing drinking water and are projected in the nine state districts below Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
This was announced by the Union Jal Minister Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday.
The ministry has allocated 1,275 rs crore to create sustainable water sources in Indira Gandhi Nagar Yojana (IGNP) runaway.
The whole exercise will create an additional storage capacity of 1,100 cusec water in three districts.
Speaking while traveling, Shekhawat said that he had recently held a meeting with Minister Phed B D Kalla in Delhi which pointed out that the country, currently, only has the capacity to save 1,031 cusec water for JJM.
“There will be no shortage of funds'” The state will need around 2,132 cusecs to meet the needs of water up to 2054 under JJM.
The reservoir under the scheme will appear in Bikaner, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, “said Minister.
Shekhawat said there would be no shortage of funds for the project.” In the state, household water tap connections contributed 20.7%.
At 2020-21, more than 6.77 water connections have been given under JJM, “said Shekhawat, which added that the state has convinced him to provide this annual 30 lakh new connection.” The budget allocation for the scheme by the center has increased from RS 2,522 Crore to Rs 10,180 Crore with the aim of providing a tap connection.
The state has 101.32 beneficiaries of the Lakh rural household under the scheme, “he said.
