4 rivers Uttarakhand change the course after rain

Dehradun: Dense Rain Truced by Uttarakhand last week has led to four leading rivers in the state to change their direction, encourage the Ministry of Forestry to bind the IIT Roorkee to conduct studies of river channels and the impact of this change.
Analysis by the Ministry of Forestry after DAHSYAT rain since October 17 found that the swollen river in Kumaon – Kosi, Gaul, Nandhaur and Dabka – have changed their direction.
In some areas, they have begun to flow towards temporary human beings in other people, changes have affected the work of the Department of Forest such as mining and patrol.
Tejaswini Patil, Head of Forest Conservator, West Circle (Uttarakhand) told TII, “Changes in river trips are a problem for us.
We have asked Iit-Roorkee to learn the change so we can build embankments on the river after the right technical assessment.” According to Patil, instead of winding through the usual channel, the waters of the rainfall rivers now flow across the traditional basically, which, in many cases, have been interrupted.
Environmental lovers say encroaching the river has aggravated the problem.
“The rivers have not changed their courses or took new channels, they only flow in their own space – the river basis – which has been violated by humans,” said Himanshu Thakkar, South Asian network coordinator in Dam, River and People (Sandarp)) , non-profit.
“Illegal construction, waste disposal and dirt throw into the river – while cleaning up the rubble of landslides during the rainy season or during the construction of the All-Weather Char Dham Road – has squeezed the river,” he said.
Historians and Padma Shri Recipients Shekhar Pathak added that “anthropogenic pressure and a striking non-scientific construction work” is the main reason for the rain that causes widespread destruction.
“The road from Nainital to Almora was built by exploring the flood of the Kosi River, and in this flood, we have seen all the roads that are drifting,” said Pathak.
“This type of non-scientific construction activities with tree logging, mountain slaughter, will be charged with Uttarak costs with weight,” he said.
Ti previously reported that more than 250 km of forest land was swept away in rainfall.
