Coimbatore: At first, a 40-day-old girl would take advantage of a comprehensive Ministerial Health Insurance scheme (CMCHI).
Orphany babies, submitted to the Polachi-based adoption center of Sharanalayam, were diagnosed with heart disease, for those who had to undergo surgery.
While the adoption center approached the voluntary organization for assistance, this problem was brought from the notification of coimbatore collector GS Sameran.
While he had to shift to Chennai for heart surgery at government facilities, it was decided to have an operation at a private hospital in Coimbatore.
The collector instructs officials to find if the baby can use CMCchi for surgery in a private hospital.
CCMCHI R Kishore District Project Officer said smart card was released for a family-based family.
“Even though this scheme is available for orphans, they must have aadhaar card.
In this case, the baby does not have an identity card.
Considering his condition, the application is approved and he accepts the CMChi smart card,” he said.
The baby will undergo surgery at Sri Ramakrishna hospital soon.
