Guwahati: Those who are not a city resident appear to be the biggest carrier of the biggest infection because 40% of daily positive cases come from this group, detected when treated at the hospital here.
But the level of progress has been dipped amazingly at the airport and at the train station.
However, the market is still seen as a super spreader in the housing colony, especially in East Guwahati.
Kamrup Administration (Metro) and the Ministry of Health continue their supervision among floating populations, including traders and other workers, who are not residents of the city.
“Floating population does not have a permanent address in Guwahati.
The maximum positive case is now being detected at the Gahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and several leading private hospitals.
They are being tested before consulting a doctor,” additional DC, Sharmistha Borah, told Tii Tuesday.
He confirmed that 30 to 40% of the daily cases detected in Kumbrup (Metro) was reported from the hospital.
Borah said while some cases were reported from targeted testing which was being randomly carried out among street vendors and vulnerable populations on the path, detection of cases in the housing colony, especially the east threat.
“For a while, we have registered most cases from the Region Beltola, six miles and Khanapara in East Guwahati.
This is a large area and has several old markets,” he added.
In these areas, most women were found positive because they went to the market, Borah said.
The previous truck park, the warehouse and establishment of defense in East Guwahati was on radar but from the end where the market had appeared as a spreader.
Health officials said there was no distribution of communities reported recently, even though in some apartments and dense bags of residents, more people have argued positive.
“Interestingly, the medical staff living in a rented house has also become a carrier of the virus,” Borah said.
Of the 636 Covid cases detected in the state on Monday, 124 comes from Kamrup (Metro).
