KOLKATA: A 40-year-old gynaecologist reacted to Covid-19 on Friday, carrying the Covid tally from the Bengal physician fraternity into 40 during the next wave.
Rashmi Khandelwal, that had been connected with a couple of private hospitals in Kolkata, died at a private hospital away EM Bypass.
She had been on venting service for more than a week.
According to sources, the gynaecologist tested positive from the very first week of May.
Originally, she stayed in home isolation and has been changed to hospital following her condition deteriorated.
An alumnus of Calcutta National Medical Collegethat the 40-year-old hadn’t been vaccinated.
Sources said she had a allergic illness because of that she’d averted the vaccine.
“It’s painful to lose those youthful smart physicians.
