Chennai: Only in one week, The Greater Chennai Corporation has shifted around 400 patients to Covid care centers in the city.
Three Facilities of Civic Body in Injambakkam, Majambakkam and Nandambakkam have a total of 1300 beds.
Because of the surge in cases, these centers are filled, said an official.
At the Chennai trade center in Nadambakkam, 800 beds are available.
The center of another bed is in an infectious disease hospital in Tondious (300 beds) in the Manjambakkam and Injambakkam Health Center, where 100 beds are available.
After the recent meeting, The Greater Chennai Corporation began looking for other locations as well, including residential and college plots, which were used.
“This will be used only in an emergency.
The bed has been placed and oxygen concentrators are also available,” said an official.
The Civic body will also bind with NGOs as the last one can, when a private building is used as a covid treatment center.
As on January 11, there were 24,174 patients in house isolation throughout the city.
“Because of the symptoms of mild, Civic’s body chose home isolation,” said a corporate health department official.
The Civic body opens telephoto counseling centers on Wednesday to monitor them in house isolation.
One center has been for every zone, and volunteers have been employed to ensure every patient isolation house contacted for follow-up.
“We want to make sure that all patients, even those who have mild symptoms, are treated…
Personal care will be given to each patient,” said Gagandeep Singh Bedi, corporate commissioner.
