Gandhinagar: The day after the Gujarat government limits the number of people who can be part of the Eid Al-Fitr procession at the age of 15, he revised the decision on Monday to enable 400 people to gather in the e-Milad procession if it moves in a location, colony or road and does not come out of That area.
The announcement came a day after three Congress MLAS – Gyasuddin Shaikh, Imran Khedawala and Mohammad Javid Pirzada – urged the state government to raise the limits of participation in the procession of 15 people to 400 people.
The state unit from all of India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslim (AIMIM) also demanded that 400 people be permitted in the Eid al-Fitr procession.
Eid-e-Milad will be celebrated on Tuesday to mark the birth alert of the Prophet Muhammad.
In ‘clarification’ issued on Monday, the state government said, “400 people can take part in the procession, if you move in location, Mohalla or the road and not out of the limited area”.
If the procession out of the area, only 15 people will be permitted in it in accordance with the guidelines issued on Sunday, the latest release said.
