New Delhi: Even though the blanket prohibits the sale of crackers, Delhi police in his oppression before Diwali has so far confiscated around 4,000 kilograms of firecrackers and arrested 26 people in 23 cases.
After the ban was dropped on sales and broke out of firecrackers to January 1, 2022 to fight air pollution, the Delhi police license unit stated that there was no new license to be spent on the sale of crackers and even permanent store licenses would cancel the case they violated the norm.
Senior police officers said firecrackers were not available in the capital, but the roding border of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana made it easier for people to take them to Delhi.
The remaining shares and some were carried illegally from the factory which produced it in a kllandat brought by men accused.
DCP (Rohini) Pranaav Tayal said, “We have conducted a constant surprise examination in several markets.
The police have been deployed in thug clothes in several locations.
We confiscated 1,174 kilograms of firecrackers in three cases.
These people carry crackers from countries Borders to sell in the city.
“In East Delhi, 81.1kg firecrackers were confiscated with the arrest of four people in many ways.
“People mainly get a smaller number to sell it in their known circle, but our team has worked all the time to ensure the prohibition was not violated.
Most of the defendants said they did this to get fast money,” said DCP (east) Priyanka Kashyap.
Previously, an employee at a five-star hotel was arrested by the Central District Police while trying to sneak in crackers from Faridabad.
He wanted to sell it during Diwali in the walled city, which is a shopping paradise during the celebration season and is usually packed with visitors.
It makes it easy for people to secretly sell crackers.
Some police teams have been deployed on the market and announcements made to remind people that strong actions will be taken against violators.
A 33-year-old-based shopkeeper was arrested from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Southeast Delhi for allegedly bringing 21.7kg firecrackers in his vehicle despite a ban, police said on Sundays.
The vehicle used to bring firecrackers was confiscated from the defendant, Heera Lal.
