Mumbai: almost 41% of the Mumbai adult population has been fully vaccinated, according to the latest statistics.
The average double city vaccination is far superior to the whole country (23%).
Maharashtra recently seized the city target population for vaccination up to 92,36,546 from 96.78,838.
According to new estimates, Mumbai has given at least one dose to 87.3% (80,62,971) from the target population and both shots to 37,52,880 (40.6%).
Among the district, Pune was second, after being fully vaccinated 36.18% of the population.
The Pune district has given at least one shot to 82.5% of people.
Maharashtra, who has given the second highest number of doses in this country, has covered 58.73% of the adult population with at least one shot and 23.36% with both shots.
Overall, the state has managed 7,69,05,480 doses, fully immunization 2.21 crore.
The state has also revised the estimated adult population of 9.58crore to 9.14crore.
However, at least 23 districts are below the country average in complete vaccination.
Nandurrar, Hingoli and Nanded were at the bottom after giving both shots up to 17%, 11% and 12% respectively.
CM Uddhav Thackeray said on Wednesday that the surplus dose must be given to low-performance districts.
The state on September 21 has a dose of 36lakh in the cat.
Officials said by improved vaccine supply, these districts have been told to accelerate their pace.
In September, the average daily vaccination has increased 68% in August.
Compared to August when the dose of 4.67lakh was given every day on average, that number rose to 7.61lakh in September.
“We now have 47.88% of the 18-44-year-old category which is vaccinated with at least one dose.
In the age bracket that is more vulnerable from 45 and above, we have been vaccinated by more than 66% with at least one shot,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Mumbai will have a truncated trip on Friday because shares are limited.
Officials say fewer centers will accommodate drives.
On Thursday also, immunization fell to 70,369 from the average one lakh plus that was seen lately.
Maharashtra can vaccinate 7.26lakh in all.
