Mumbai: Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 4,196 new cases of Coronavirus, pushing free total cases to 64.64,876.
Also, 104 people surrendered to the virus, taking dead to 1,37,313.
4,688 patients recovered, which with the number of cumulative recovery jumped to 62,72,800, leaving the country with 51,238 active cases, a health department official said.
The level of recovery of Maharashtra cases is now at 97.03 percent while the mortality rate is 2.12 percent.
Eight districts, Jalna, Hingoli, Parbhani, Akola, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, and Chandrapur and five Jalgaon City, Parbhani, Nanded, Akola, and Amravati companies did not report fresh Covid-19 cases during the day.
The official said the Ahmednagar district reported the highest 780 case in Maharashtra on Tuesday, followed by Pune with 579 infections.
Among the districts, Pune District reported the number 15 of the highest death in the last 24 hours, the official said.
Of the eight regions in Maharashtra, the Pune region saw 1,789 new cases followed by 898 infections in the Nashik area.
The Mumbai region reported 705 fresh infections, Kolhapur 548, 190, Aurangabad 32, Akola 23 and Nagpur 11, said the official.
Of the 104 reported fatalities from eight regions, the highest 43 came from the Pune region, followed by 32 deaths in the Mumbai region.
In particular, the territory of Akola and Nagpur did not report new deaths due to Covid-19 infection.
The Mumbai region saw 15 deaths, seven, and nashik six.
The Aurangabad district reported one Covid-19 death, the official added.
The city of Mumbai witnessed 323 new cases and one mortality while Pune City saw 277 fresh infections and one death, he said.
Among 51,238 active patients in Maharashtra, Pune District had a 13,515 highest number of cases, according to officials.
Of the 62.72,800 patients recovered in the state, the highest number of 10,85,920 recovery was reported from Pune District.
With 1,64,059 new tests, the number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra reached 5,39,76,886, the official said.
As many as 2,91,701 people were in the quarantine of houses in the state and 2,121 patients were in institutional quarantine, according to officials.
