42 new covid cases in Gujarat; no fresh death

Ahmedabad: Tally Covid-19 in Gujarat rose 42 on Sunday, which took the overall infection of 8.24,242, the health department said.
No fresh death reported during the day and the highway is currently standing at 10,073, he said.
When 262 patients were removed from the hospital on Sunday, the number of recovery rose to 8.13,238, the department said in the release.
The Gujarat recovery rate rose to 98.66 percent, and the number of active cases fell below 1,000 marks to 931, he added.
District letter reported 13 new cases, Ahmedabad seven, Rajkot and Vadodara Four, and Bhavnagar and Jamnagar respectively, among others.
As many as 2,32,949 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Gujarat on Sunday, taking the total number of doses given so far across the country to 2,78,60,422, he said.
Union Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu reported two new cases.
With this, Tally Covid-19 UT rose to 10,558.
A total of 10,529 patients have been thrown away in UT, where the number of active cases now stands at 25.
There are four Koronavirus deaths in UT so far, officials said.
