New Delhi: More than 3.14 Crore Teenagers – Accounting 42% of children between 15-18 years – have received the first dose of Covid vaccine in about 11 days since the vaccination drive launched for this category on January 3 aims to discuss about 80-85 % of the estimated 7.40 crore children in the age group 15-17 years at the end of January.

So far, Uttar Pradesh has provided 43.35 lakh doses to young people who qualified while Madhya Pradesh has provided 27.55 doses of lakh.
Bihar has provided 25.03 doses of Lakh, Andhra Pradesh 21.30 Lakh, Gujarat 20.68 Lakh, Maharashtra 23.94 Lakh, Rajasthan 23.68 lakh and Tamil Nadu 18.07 lakh.
The capital has provided 4.59 lakh doses to those aged 15-17 years.
Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya Tweeted: “A sense of responsibility & enthusiasm among young India.” “More than 3 crore children between the age group 15-18 have received a dose of 1 vaccine # Covid19.
I begged all my young friends who qualified to vaccinate …” he said.
Overall, more than 155 crore doses have been given throughout the country.
This includes nearly 33 doses of lakh or booster prevention measures for front-line workers and over 60 years given since January 10.
