Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has captured 42 students, most of the fields of engineering and technology, cheating when appearing for examin terms online, thanks to the audio procoring feature that captures the testing environment for sounds and additional sounds.
The examination began on July 12.
Mahesh Kakade, Director, Examination and Evaluation, SPPU, said some of these cases have been registered for audio-procoring.
The university only uses the artificial intelligence-based intelligence-based announcement method in the last examination held in April-May when 360 students are caught cheating during the exam.
In accordance with university officials, students take screens’ catch from the question letters and send them to the exclusive social media group.
Someone from these groups will then send the correct answer to them.
From this term, the University includes audio procoring into the withdrawal method.
Audio Proctoring software uses a test taker microphone to identify minutes details, such as whispers, low sound levels, muttering, and other inconsistencies, to ensure a safe assessment environment.
University officials refused to reveal more details about the process of memorizing, quoting confidentiality.
A senior official said, “The first thing to do students if we know how the procoring method works is to be online and check the way to bypass it.
Therefore, we try to keep it under wraps.” Kakade said that most of the students were caught by the last cheating.
times and even this term comes from the field of engineering and technology.
“My suggestion to students is refraining from using unfair ways and appears for honest examination.
All students who have used unfair facilities have been punished.
Some will not be marked for inspection if they are found to be cheating, while some of them will be notified for Repeating all terms, besides paying a fine.
Isn’t it better just trying to examine honestly than suffering from the consequences of indulging in malpractice, “Kakade said.
He said that the University tried hard to upload the results on time.
“Examination of the Faculty of Engineering will expire in a few days.
Because we have tried to complete the last year’s exam from all faculties in priority, it will be completed on August 10.
If everything goes smoothly, we will also be able to declare the results from August 15 and so on,” said Kakade.
