Mumbai: DB Marg Police on Monday arrested a 42-year-old Conman because of deceiving a man who was easily fooled at the ATM kiosk in South Mumbai.
While the victim pulled cash from the ATM kiosk, the defendant who was present in the cabin saw the victim’s password, asked him to insert the card again by saying that the transaction was incomplete and then pulled back the password.
The defendant faced 12 cases for similar fraud at various South Mumbai police stations.
The complainant, Tanwar Shaikh (31), who deal with the electronic goods business, approached the police on July 15.
In his complaint, he stated that when he went to withdraw cash to the center of the ATM, he had been there.
He told the police that when he finished the transaction, the man who was present in the cabin told him that the transaction was not finished and he had to enter the card on the machine again to complete the process.
Believe him, the victim put his card again and pulled him.
As soon as he left the cabin and crossed the road, he got an SMS stating that Rs 15,000 were pulled from the card.
The complainant returned to the place and found his ‘maid’ departing on a bicycle.
He asked him to stop but the person drove with his bicycle.
A team consisting of senior Pradip Khude Inspector – King Bikdar and Pradip Patil officers – began investigating casts.
The police on Monday night arrested the suspect Sarfaraz Khan from Agripada.
“During the interrogation, we learned that he had committed the same fraud in various places.
Three such cases were registered against Khan at the Agripada police station, two cases each at the Pydhonie police station, the Nagada police station, the VP police station and one case each Each at DB Marg, Dongri and Mri Marg Police Police.
The defendant was produced before the court and was returned in police custody for three days, “said an officer.
