Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Tuesday claims to have bought 44,000 tons of rice during the day.
While until Monday, the government claimed to have bought 1,15,626 tons of rice this season.
According to a maximum information of 18,000 tons of procurement that day was made in Ambala market while a minimum of 2,000 tons was purchased in Kurukshetra.
While 10,000 tons were bought in Kaithal and Yamunanangar districts.
The main secretary, food, civilian inventory and consumer affairs Rastogi said that the gate passed for the procurement of around 3.60 lakh rice tone in Haryana, Pass has been issued on the E-Kharid country portal.
Rastogi claims that the procurement of rice has begun from Sunday with a minimum price of RS 1,960 per quintal.
He said that at the beginning of the procurement process, sometimes the problem arose when a large number of farmers came to the wheat market at the same time to sell their products.
As long as this situation is all efforts that might be carried out by the state government to overcome this kind of problems.
He said that he was a hopeful situation will be fully normal in the coming days and the process of procurement of rice will operate smoothly as in previous years.
Meanwhile, referring to complaints raised by farmers for non-procurement, officials reasoned the problem of moisture and did not have an e-pass with farmers for their sales.
