Mumbai: A total of 45 Delta variant cases plus Coronavirus have been reported in Maharashtra during the sequencing of the genome, said the State Health Department on Sunday, adding one patient to die.
At the age of 13, the maximum number of patients comes from Jalgaon in the North Maharashtra followed by Ratnagiri (11) in the region of the coastal Konkan.
“80 percent of the samples sent to the genome sequencing have been positively tested for the Delta Plus variant (from Coronavirus).
45 patients come from Jalgaon (13), Ratnagiri (11), Mumbai (5), Pune (5), Pune (3) , and each of Palghar, Sindhudurg, Sangli.
Nandurbar, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, and Beed, “said the department in a statement.
Of this 45 samples, information about 35 patients was taken by the Ministry of Health.
One death was reported while other patients reported symptoms of mild to medium, he said.
The exact number of samples is sent for genome sequencing and periods where they are analyzed not mentioned.
