PRAYAGRAJ: Apart from Prayagraj and Fatehpur districts, now there are no macro containment zones in Kaushambi district as well, owing to the rising recovery rate and a drastic fall in the number of active Covid cases.
However, Pratapgarh district still has 17 macro containment zones.
Statistics revealed by range police on Thursday stated that only Pratapgarh district has 17 active macro containment zones in the range.
Data also revealed that there are as many as 450 micro containment zones in the range, including 314 in Prayagraj, 20 in Kaushambi, 25 in Fatehpur and 91 in Pratapgarh respectively.
In Prayagraj district, the strength of macro containment zones came down from 294 to 148 between May 19 and 23, and by June 5, the district did not have even a single macro containment zone.
On May 23, the number of micro containment zones in Sangam city was recorded as 1,891, and it reduced to 314 on June 10.
The highest number of macro and micro containment zones in Prayagraj district was 294 and 9,527 respectively on May 7.
The Sangam city reported a total of 78,113 positive cases till June 9, out of which 76,794 have recovered.
The city reported 937 deaths Covid deaths so far.
Currently, there are 382 active Covid cases in the district.
In Kaushambi, there were 4,454 positive cases till June 9, out of which 4,378 have recovered.
The district has reported 66 Covid deaths so far.
Currently, there are 10 active cases.
Fatehpur recorded 6,492 positive cases, out of which 6,342 have recovered.
The district has recorded 130 Covid deaths so far.
There are only 20 active cases in Fatehpur presently.
In Pratapgarh district, there were 10,732 positive cases, out of which 10,423 have recovered.
The district reported 159 Covid deaths so far.
Currently, there are 150 active cases.
Till June 9, Prayagraj range recorded 99,791 positive cases, out of which 97,937 have recovered.
The range has reported 1,292 Covid deaths so far.
Currently, there are a total of 562 active cases in the four districts of the range.
IG, Prayagraj range, K P Singh, told TOI that despite the rise in recovery rate and decline in the number of fresh Covid cases, we have been constantly appealing to masses to strictly adhere to the Covid protocol to check the spread of the disease.
He added that police teams had been instructed to take stern action against those spotted without masks.
Besides, an appeal through public address system has also been made to maintain social distancing at public places and use sanitizers.
Prayagraj has recorded less than 50 cases in the past 17 days.
