Chennai: Tamil Nadu added 4,512 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, and the number of deaths crossed 100-mark to 118 after reporting 91 deaths on Sundays and 98 on Monday.
After being excluded from 6,013 patients, the state has 39,335 people undergo treatment for viral infections.
The cumulative case calculates 24.75 lakh while the victim reaches 32,506.
Public Health Director Dr.
TS Selvavinayagam said fresh cases and the level of prisoners had steadily dropped Tamil Nadu.
“The state has relaxing locking restrictions in several regions, but it is still important for people to stay at home unless needed to step out.
Wear the mask and maintain social distance,” he said.
On Tuesday, while Coimbatore reported 563 new cases, all other districts recorded less than 500 cases.
Three Western District Erode (493), Salem (302) and Tirupur (281) were among the top five districts along with Chennai, which recorded 275 cases.
With new cases down, active cases are less than 5,000 in all districts.
Coimbatore has 4,676 people under care, followed by 4,163 in Erode.
At least 25 districts reported less than 100 fresh cases on Tuesday – with a scrambler (20) and Ramanathapuram (15) at the bottom of the new case list.
Of the 118 deaths, coimbatore and Madurai reported 12 respectively, followed by nine in Salem and seven each in Chennai, Ranipet and Vellore.
The fatality rate of the case – the number of deaths over the total number of people tested positively – remained at 1.3% on Tuesday for Tamil Nadu.
While Vellore and Thirupathur have more than 2% of the case mortality rate, the wall has 1.9%.
