Visakhapatnam: Union Minister Bharathi Pravin Pawar told the parliament on Tuesday that 48.17 Crore Covid 19 tests have been carried out throughout the country until the date of April last year.
He said that the test was carried out on 2838 testing laboratories approved by ICMR which included 1742 RT-PCR laboratories, 946 True Laboratories, 131 CBNAAT laboratories and 19 other nucleic acid test platforms.
The Minister was described at the query raised by YSRCP Rajya Sabha Vijayasai REDDY member, by saying that the sensitivity of the fast antigen test (mouse) was less than RT-PCR.
So ICMR recommends that all symptomatic individuals testing negative by mice must be tested by RT-PCR.
The minister said that support has been given to countries and also the United States by providing 485 RT-PCR engines and 225 automatic RNA extractors to strengthen RT-PCR infrastructure.
“Apart from this, 20 High RT-PCR Laboratory Throughput has been established.
The original Truenat engine mobilized for TB testing is returned and more machines are added to Covid testing 19.
Even the validation of trunat tests for Covid 19 testing is carried out based on accelerated,” said pawar .
He further added that Genexpert Machines was deployed for TB testing returned for Covid testing.
The RT PCR system that was closed was approved by the USFda such as ABBOTT ID now and the other was approved and allowed to be used in India.
“All medical colleges throughout the country have been mandated to have molecular virological arrangements as a prerequisite for certification by the Indian Medical Council.
This produces on-boarding from almost all private medical and medical colleges for Covid testing,” Minister said.
In accordance with the data, the highest test in the AP was carried out in June 2021 because it has done 18.43.906 RT PCR and 12,49,275 antigen tests.
The AP has made more tests from July 2020 to December 2020 and shows the highest test in March 2021.
AP has increased the number of tests and has peaked in June and in July 2021.
The government Andhra Pradesh did 3.45 lakh test RT-PCR and 17,914 antigen tests in August to date.
