Kolhapur: Even though Maharashtra state electrical board workers work day and night, 48,000 farm pumps in Kolhapur Regency are still without a power supply because of the damage caused by the poles and transformers during the past month.
Of the 77,000 affected connections, around 29,000 were repaired so far.
With rainfall taking a break and there is no electricity supply, farmers in the district cannot provide water to their plants.
Chief Engineer from Mahavitran Paresh Bhagwat said, “Installation of new transformers, electricity poles, and a difficult meter during the flood and heavy rain.
Therefore, the work to restore the power supply to the agricultural sector is increasingly delayed.
Our employees work day and night to carry out work Repairs as early as possible.
Consider increasing water demand for agricultural purposes, our entire team has been deployed to start this pump immediately.
“As many as 3.40 lakh electrical connections were influenced in kolhapur due to heavy rain and flood last month.
From them, 2.62 lakh connections have been restored.
“Of the 77,000 agricultural pump connections, 29,000 have been restored while 48,000 are still delayed,” added Bhagwat.
