Ahmedabad: Gujarat University will hold the 70th convocation ceremony on Saturday, online, where 49,528 students will be given degrees.
Of these, 280 will receive a medal and 62 will be given a prize, according to a media statement from the University.
Chairman of Minister Bhupendra Patel will be the main guest and provide the main address.
Convocentions are being held online this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister of Education and Executing Education and State Minister for Kuber Dindor, Kirtisinh Vaghela and officials of the Senior Education Department are expected to join online events.
As many as 49,528 students from nine faculties – art, science, engineering, law, medical, trade, teeth, education, and pharmacy – will be given degrees at the meeting.
The number of students who received the degree declined this year.
Last year, 56,083 students were given degrees.
