Mumbai: Mumbai police have arrested five people for allegedly operating illegal LPG charging units at Govandi’s Publikan here, police said on Wednesday.
The 6-branch of the crime unit carried out attacks on Locality Shivaji Nagar on Tuesday afternoon and accused the defendant, said an official.
Shahrukh Sheikh (31) allegations, Yaseen Siddique (24), Khan’s business (31), Kareem Khan (31) and Zakir Khan (38) operate units, where they suspected of undergoing a small cylinder of the LPG cylinder obtained by people from Gas agent and then sell it on the market, he said.
The unit, surrounded by huts, was also operated in dangerous conditions, the official said, added that equipment worth 14 lakh was confiscated by the police.
The defendant has been ordered based on part 420 (cheating) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Self-Oil Gas Law (Supply and Distribution Regulations), he added.
