Lucknow: After being drawn twice because it was not responding to satisfactorily on the question of the death of five patients suspected of being lacking oxygen during the second wave of Covid in April, the State Human Rights Commission (UPSHRC) has now decided to call RAM Manohar Lohia Officials in the Institute of Medical Sciences (rmlims) for the right explanation.
On Monday, when the commission passed RMLIs on the second warning, found that the Institute had explained the death of only two patients and did not answer specific questions.
“This institution has not yet explained to the Commission about who the remaining three patients, how they die and who will be responsible for that.
The Commission has now decided to call members of the Institute’s Internal Committee to attend physically before the appropriate answer and explanation,” UPSSHRC members , Op Dixit, to Toi.
He said the reply from RMLim stated that one of the patients who died was an old man who suffered the last stage of cancer and could not be saved because of the severity of his illness.
“Other deaths (in April) are female patients.
Replies stated that death occurred around 3am while the oxygen supply began to fall around 5.30 in the morning.
So the two deaths, said RMLIs, not due to a decrease in oxygen levels.
But rmlim failed to give a reply In three remaining patients and all other questions aimed at the commission to improve responsibility, “said Dixit.
The Commission has taken Suo Motu’s awareness of the news report which said five patients died due to lack of oxygen in RMLIM in April.
In the order of June 16, the UPSSHRC said the question of RMLIs was just Eyewash and had given a two-week time for the right investigation.
When RMLim failed to give a satisfying reply, the Commission decided to call officials for explanation.
