Jodhpur: Five people died after their SUV traveled colliding with trucks in Jodhpur Rajasthan district, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred at Jodhpur-Jaipur Highway near Dangiyawas on Sunday night.
Two injuries underwent treatment at the hospital, they said.
Station House Officer, Dangiyawas, Kanhaailya said the SUV driver drove when trying to follow another vehicle.
During the process, the SUV collided directly with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision makes the SUV very destroyed and everyone in it is jammed.
The villagers and police, who rushed to the place, had fun interesting victims, he said.
“Two passengers died in place while two died on their way to the hospital.
Another passenger died during hospital treatment today (Monday) afternoon while two injuries underwent treatment,” Kanha said.
All victims were residents of London Malgaon in the Beawar Sub-Division of the Ajmer District and returned to their village from Jodhpur, police said.
The truck driver escaped from the place immediately after the collision.
Trucks have been confiscated and efforts are made to arrest the driver, they said.
