5 killed in a car truck collision in the Kheda district

Kheda: Five people died when a truck collided with their car on Jalan Kapdavanj-Kathlal in the Kheda Gujarat district on Friday, police said.
The incident took place near Porda Village in the early hours of the morning, when the victims headed to Jejra Viramgam Taluka Village from the city of Kapadvanj, said an official.
After the accident, the unidentified truck driver left his vehicle and escaped from the place, said Inspector Va Charan from the Kathlal Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Menia (28), Vikarm Bhabharia (31), Prabhu Bakudia (25), Bharat Jamod (42) and Sunil Kumadara (26), he said.
MENIA and Bhabharia came from Surendranagar Regency, while the other three came from Viramgam Taluka from the Ahmedabad district, he said.
“Eyewitnesses claimed that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a car while trying to follow another vehicle at a very high speed,” the official said.
The impact was so that four residents were killed in that place, while someone died shortly after being treated at the nearest hospital, he said.
The case of a driving rash and caused death from negligence was registered with unknown truck drivers, the official added.
