5-member Congress panel submits report on Sonia Gandhi on Reductions at just-concluded assembly polls

NEW DELHI: Even a five-member Congress panel on Tuesday declared its evaluation about the party’s losses from the just-concluded meeting elections to party leader Sonia Gandhi, also put forward some suggestions and recommendations to help strengthen the organization.
Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan who directs the team said he’d submitted the report to the party’s operation in Kerala, Assam and also Puducherry and the appraisal for West Bengal has been penalized.
“We’ve filed our report on survey reductions from Assam, Puducherry and Kerala and also have given our recommendations and suggestions,” Chavan told PTI.
He added the record on West Bengal has been prepared and talks with party leaders ‘ are still happening.
Besides Chavan, the team contains Salman Khurshid, Manish Tewari, Vincent H Pala and Jothi Mani.
The Congress had put the five-member team to assess the party’s operation in meeting polls in Kerala, Assam, West Bengal and also Puducherry.
Sonia Gandhi had stated in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting a month that the team could look at each facet of current electoral reverses and return with its own findings.
“These can yield uncomfortable courses, but when we don’t face up to the fact, if we don’t look the truth in the face, then we won’t draw the appropriate course,” she’d said.
The Congress failed to win one seat in West Bengal, although its own performances from Assam, Kerala and also Puducherry were under par since it failed to catch power in these nations.
The Left Democratic Front and the BJP retained energy from Kerala and Assam respectively.
