Gurgaon: At least five people were tested positive for dengue fever in the last three days during a rapid fever survey in the city.
So far, 23 cases of dengue fever have been reported this season.
In a fever survey, which has been going on since July, 500 health workers who conduct fever surveys have identified people with symptoms in every household and made them tested in their main health center.
The survey will be carried out until September 30.
Dr.
Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer, Gurgaon, said lately, an uptick in viral fever and the case of dengue fever has been seen.
“The case of diseases transmitted through vectors is increasing.
We carry out a fever survey to detect them earlier,” he added.
So far this month, 3,05,104 houses are examined for anti-larval activities and 2,116 notifications have been served and a total of 14,432 people have been screened for fever.
The Ministry of Health has also mapped several dengue hotspots, including Wazirabad, Palam Vihar, Basai, Kanhai colony, Sarhaul Village, Sector 21-A, 39, 12-A, 47, 12, Dharam Colony, Udyog Vihar Phase-1 and Jharsa Village.
The team also mapped a geographical positive case and compare it with past surveys.
Experts have advised people to close the window at home during the morning and evening to avoid mosquitoes.
“Water should not stagnate in a flower pot, bird dishes must be stored outside and cooler water must be changed once a week.
People have to wear full arm clothes while stepping out,” said Dr.
RR Dutta, head of the department (internal medicine), Paras Hospital.
The city reported the case of his first-blooded fever on August 24 this year, when five people were tested positively.
It has seen the highest number of cases in 2015, with 451 people testing positive.
The figure was established in 86 of 2016, 66 in 2017 and 93 in 2018.
While 22 cases were reported in 2019, 51 cases were recorded in 2020.
